wow…too much has happened since the day i last wrote. well….let us see….HMMMMmm..i have started my sophmore year at North Thurston High School. my schedule is comfortable. my friends seem to be where i last placed them. my many little love affairs have been put second to my success in school(academically). and my lyfe as a student begins anew for the countless’th time.

1st. Calligraphy

2nd. Beggining Auto Shop

3rd.Adv. English

4th. World Studdies

5th. Int.2 Math

6th. Architectual Drafting.

my day starts at 8:05 with a slow paced, quiet, and easy going calligraphy class. i had my doubts about this class but they quickly disintregated by day2. it allows me to do what i have a passion for. art classes prior to this one forced me to draw things that i didnt really see a reason to draw, much less wanted to. i still do things that i wouldnt really want see as worthy of getting out of bed, nonetheless, i do fancy dipping the pen into tha little bottles of ink.

2nd period is more my laugh it up period. tha teacher is a laidback guy who knows his stuff. thats cool. though i dont have the slightest idea as to what a carborator or 6cylinder thingermapooper is, i do enjoy tha class.

3rd period brings on tha stress. the first day of school, i was assigned a 2 page essay due the next day. the day after, i was pressured to complete a 5 paragraph final draft essay due before the dismissal bell. thats just a little piece of the expectations i am held accountable for. for my WHOLE school experience, i have always been in tha badass class. the class with the most attitude, the most trouble causers, and the least expectancy to pass. now, i know i was told that the work ethic is crayzi, but this was just a silent fart to tha face.and evidently, i am the only one who feels so. to help you see how used to my old classes and unprepared i was, picture this. FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. i walk into portable 15. once everyones settled, the teacher asks “how many of you read at least 10 books durring your summer vacation?”. . . (class responds). “5?”. . . (class responds). “how many of you read no books at all this summer?” here i am sitting proudly with my hand raised in the air and a rebelious smirk on my face…looking around the class, anticipating the same reaction from the better half of the class. only i recieve blank stares from my peers and a cold look from my advanced english teacher.

tha rest of my school day is a breeze…except maybe math. i little tough to chew…a little.

Stick Shifts a Bitch

okay. today. i happened to stumble upon a certain stick shift vehicle with the keys in my hand. dont ask me how. another mindless teenager’s mistake. so i think “why not?” its just me (and gramma…but i figure shes prutty safe) at the house. Fonos doing errands. Kevins in Ta Ta Tacoma. Fas at camp and everyone else is bout a hundred and hundred more miles away. SO I GET IN. find some complications with getting it to start. i start stick shifts almost everyday, so i got that down. it turned out to be the emergency brake. I’ve only actually drivin a stick under supervision once. that special little hippie i’ve told u about. well once i get it started i put tha clutch down, shift to 1st gear, push tha gas drop the clutch and found myself 40 ft from where i started. i got in the car with the initial thought that i’d simply park and repark over and over again. just to get the hang of it. well…my journey turned out to be a never ending sequence of nutrual, 1st gear, and reverse just to undo the damage a had first got myself into. after lots of jolts worthy of whiplash and engine failure i finaly got tha bitch back into it’s original position. very gracefully mind you. well. who knows. i just might jump back into it before the day ends. =). most likely not though. Well thats that, isnt it? dont be disappointed in me.

o0oo0oh….well would ya look at that. my page looks nice now doesnt it? yea, i like it. at first i was gunna put a page wit red flowers an stuffz…but i like this 1 so much more. im drawn to the simple things. like ice tea and a good book. being worn out by little kids in the park. soft music while i stare up at the sky; be it fluffy clouds or twinkling stars….or a beauty stained sunset with a loved one. or a cool banana smoothie with a fresh and healthy snack.

yea. umm, we read To Kill a Mocking Bird in 5th period (a class i hate) and we were asked to come up with a theme project. well i came up wit two. thought u’d take a look.

*k so theres been sum delay on reading the actual poems. sorry bout that…technical difficulties. im actually pretty bummed out cuz its saved on publisher so i could but this cool colage border kinda thing…but its not working out. u’ll just have to take it plain. apologies.*

Struggle for Optimism

“You get out here, boy,” says the odious voice of a stranger.

My fists clench, my eyes close tight in anger.

“I am a man too sir, just like you.”

He stared at me in ridicule, though behind my back, I knew this were true.

I tried to be brave but I must have said it in a stutter.

I have witnessed and been victim to many crimes of hate.

And have since decided that a life of reverse malice will not be my fate.

Society’s Sins of Omission

I look up to see a black man kicked out of a library, but return to my book.

I sit in the guilt that maybe one friend could be all it’ve took.

Like and unlike many, I am white but not a racist.

I find racism abominable, but silence the safest.

In times like these, I hear myself whisper, “I am only an army of one.

Besides, I am always respectful to them. What else can be done?”

Yes, racism is wrong, but it’s not up to me to kick and shout.

I am a man; I have my own problems to think about.

I look up once again and this man’s expression of hurt chases away my comfort.

A human being has been wronged and all along I could have been a help of some sort.

Instead, I quietly hide behind a book as if help was out of range.

Now I sit ashamed because my fear overrides my desire for change.

It is hard knowing that attitudes like mine keep the innocent in oppression.

But on I read, putting out of mind my sins of omission.

well…..i guess u can call me a newby to this wordpress world. all who read this have my permission to laugh at the long stretch of time it will take for my "page" to get out of the confused stage.

ummm….how do we start this off..

Well, this site was introduced to me by a truly wonderful person. A person who, maybe more than anyone else, helped me find myself. I'd have to say that i dont know who or where i'd be without her presence in my life. She's actually one of those spiritual hippies i would normaly keep my distance from, but who can keep away from family? Unfortunately, i was told of this place over the conclusion of a phonecall…so as u can see, i didnt have much of a solid guid to show me the ropes.

But for starters i just wanted to post somthin up before i peek around a bit more.
